More in the Woods!

Again, The Last Child in the Woods inspired me to go camping. Our friends The Larsons came with us at the last minute.The boys had such a good time! We went to Cedar Hill State Park and pitched a tent for one night.

Finley had a semi-attachment to this monkey fora couple of days. He would want to bring him everywhere because "the monkey would miss him" if he was left anywhere. But this day at the lake it was decided that monkey must be put in jail.

So, between these pics being taken, Finley was stung by a dead scorpion.  He was crawling on the bottom of the lake pretending he  was a shark and he screamed like I have never heard him scream!  He said, "Something bit me!" and was hysterical and shaking, like weird shivers.  Dane got his tweezers from his pocket knife and pulled out the stinger. Later when he went to their car he said he saw a dead scorpion and it looked the same as what he pulled from Finley. After the stinger was out, Finley rested and took some deep breaths for a minute then was off playing again.  He acted pretty normal till after dinner  he asked to go home to bed.  I told him we were staying in a tent and he didn't like that but went to bed without a fuss. An hour later he sat up in the tent and threw up everywhere. Not sure if it was scorpion related but he's only thrown up one other time in his life, with a virus.  These pics below were after scorpion incident.

Kevin went fishing while I took Finley swimming. He has found his new hobby- he really enjoyed himself.  Finley wants to learn too!

And though it looks dark this is actually breakfast, rice krispies treats and fruit!

Dane took the boys to one more trip to the lake.

We left first thing in the morning so we could go to a birthday party.  I love camping and we will go again soon!
