Yesterday was Kevin's birthday. Kevin's mother made him dinner- a roast with yorkshire pudding, carrots, brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes and roasted potatoes.
I made him a triple layer chocolate cake.
Finley saw me making the cake and from the beginning, he whined, wailed, and screamed. "Cake! Cake! I want cake! Chocolate! Cake cake cake cake cake cake CAKE! It was really, really annoying! He saw the cocoa powder on the counter and said I waaaaaant thaaaaaat! So I said, "Ok, go for it Sylvia, give him some!" A really dirty trick that I probably should have done myself (instead of making Granny the witch) but I was nursing Caelan at the time. I just couldn't take it anymore. She gave him a spoonful of cocoa powder. He spit it out and was totally grossed out- needed a drink! I sort of felt bad but it was SOO funny! And it certainly did not deter him from wanting the cake!

State Fair!
We went to the State Fair last week. Finley had a great time. He is still talking about the rides and the animals!
My dad, grandfather, and brother met us out there. Every time we turned around they were missing- we just had to look to a food stand and there they were!
Stupid overpriced car ride.
Riding the train with Granny.
Swings!
Finley's fried cheese stick. Not so sure about it at first...
...maybe this is a good thing?...
Yeah! It's great! Until after he ate it- soon after he wanted to go home, and on the way home he had one of those gross throw up in your mouth burps. Poor guy- he's never had anything like that before.
Me and my brother, and my Fletcher's Corny Dog. My smile is a little odd- I'm smiling a worried smile of Corny Dog anticipation. I only felt mildly ill after eating it- but never again- knowing I'm eating pig poop shoots, it's not worth it!
Big Tex!
View from the sky buggy thing. I was terrified!

The Campbells!
Our friends, The Campbells popped by last week to meet Caelan. Finley loves playing with the girls, Astrid and Jolie. His favorite thing to do is scare them with his snake- actually a large caterpillar. He says ssssssss and they shriek and run away to a corner to hug each other and shriek some more. Very cute! No pics of that here but they had a blast in the back yard playing ball!

Granny is here!
Kevin's mother arrived from Scotland on Thursday evening. Finley has been having a blast with her. He seriously does not let her sit down. Granny- come find me! Granny- come in my room! Granny- lets go for a walk!
It's great to have her here!
This is Granny with Caelan, 12 days old

Week one with Caelan Sebastian!
I think we are adjusting quite well to our new addition! Finley is so sweet with him, he is constantly giving him kisses, and if he sees me without him he always asks where the baby is! Kevin has been great at making me meals, cleaning house, and keeping Finley entertained. We are still catching up on sleep but I think we'll be back to normal very soon. Caelan sleeps very well. When he wakes up at night to nurse he just makes his little squeaks. The first few nights were hard with Finley waking up at night and wanting to stay awake and asking for Daddy things like chocolate milk and cartoons. Though last night when he woke up, he just went to the bathroom, gave us kisses, and went right back to sleep- yay! Hopefully progress!
Here are some pics of this week! Looking through them, I realize that we need to get some more of me and the boys without my boobs out, and some of Finley and Caelan together.
Lots of yawns from this boy!
Daddy made ravioli and broccoli for Finley's dinner- what a hit!
Yes, time for baths!
Snuggle time with daddy!
